This is not a particularly memorable film
Teacher and a pupil have a fling in a small town
It has a cast of 10 people despite being set in a high school
The scenery human and natural is quite striking
I dislike Martin Freedman and he is miscast here I also did not need to see him mimic the sin of Onan
I did wonder if the gender swapped the cast here
Everyone smokes
There is perhaps something interesting in the story. Where Cairo, (Ortega) is living alone -her parents away. I think a Borica is a bit out of place in rural Tennessee but never mind. Cario is above the age of consent. It is only that she is still in High School that is the question arises. We see Cairo's friend working in a cafe. If Cairo drops out. then there is no legal problem.
It is noticeable at the ending, Cario's friend wants to speak up for Freeman
Cairo presumably drives as well. She probably has to drive to the Salon, but this is not brought up. Nor the fact that she is drinking wine. There is quite a bit of alcohol drunk in this film
The ending is a bit ambiguous. Did Cairo push Freeman or did he fall? Were her tears genuine was this supposed to be Cruel Intentions for the 2020s
