In defence of Jimmy Carr

In defence of Jimmy Carr

Jimmy Carr, is a British comedian though he  is of Irish descent.
In fact I think his family, are from Limerick. This is occasionally dog whistled by other Irish comics. Anyway, the shocking news, is that Mr Carr, has been using an accountant to avoid paying tax

Mr. Carr's advisers Advised Mr. Carr, on a scheme, to legally. I stress the word legally to avoid paying his taxes. Per Twitter, Mr. Carr managed to avoid paying about 1.5 million pounds on a 3.2 million income
Per David Cameron, this is immoral behavior. Mr. Carr, who has not broken the law.
Appears, on the BBC which is the national broadcaster in the UK The BBC is paid for by TV license
Mr. Carr, who has done charity work, including benefit gigs , for elderly Irish people. Yet Mr. Carr earns  rebuke from the Prime Minister, a man, who goes on tour, with arm dealers.
If this is such a shocking act, why has not Mr. Cameron and the House, closed the loop hole?
There is a double standard, with the tax system. The middle pay the most. They pay the most because they are not able to afford accountants. This is one reason, why the rich stay rich.
Yes its unfair- this is one of the key arguments for a flat tax.
Yes there is a financial crisis, across the West. Yes it has been due in part to people avoiding paying taxes. There is a question of scale. There are companies that owe the Tax man billions. There were billions wasted on say the NHS computer system, or Greece. Mr Car's savings are small beer.
If you don't like Mr Carr, and his DVDs are full of foul mouthed humour. Don't watch his shows. Complain to the BBC when he is on them. Don't watch his DVDs, or buy them. Comics come and go.
I remember when Lee Hurst, and Nick Hancock, were the toast of the town. I remember when Lenny Henry, was essential viewing. They are not now
Mr. Carr with the money he saved on Tax, was free to invest it in the economy. To spend, on mortgage payments, meals out, a pension and travel.
In  the long run, the money probably went further.
