Civil War

One of the films that actually suffered from the buzz about it. People over thought it, rather then taking it at face value. What is a modern civil really like

People kept trying to write modern politics into the background. Watching this I thought not of red and blue states, I thought of old Los Olivos, I thought of this

This was during Covid. Covid burned longer in Peru, in most places. During Lockdown a club was opening illegalythe old neighbourhood. The PNP turned up, and the clubbers ran. This caused a crush and people died.

These  young women were from Los Olivos. Good students, loving daughters, hopeful suitors,

Maybe the PNP used tear gas, and discharged weapons. I wasn't there. It is not impossible

Watching Civil war, particuarly the scenes in NYC in the hotel I thought of this. The world's press coming down the Metroplitano-getting off at the last stop. Or staying overnight at the Holiday Inn, in Callao. Filing their stories and leaving- and ignoring the smoking laws

So imagine Americans living in a civil war.  The film does a good job of showing it. Battles in Washington-monuments destroyed. Gunmen in Hawaiian shirts. NFL graffiti on overpasses. College football stadiums as refugee camps. Mass graves off I90 Men with guns, with all the power

Anyway

Nice to see Wagner Mouna again- A slight caveat - Actor is Brasilian. They are the second industrial power in the Americas.

The actress cast as the young reporter- seems a bit too young

Kirsten Dunst fate is telegraphed
