The last Thursday of November 2014

I wonder what they were doing on the Western front, 100 years ago. Or in Rathmines or in Riga I am in a sombre mood today. I lament the passing of P.D James. I met the woman once in high school. An opportunity missed. She wrote one of the most disturbing dystopian novels -The children of men, and death comes to Pemberly a follow up to Pride and Prejudice I am saddened to learn of the death of Philip Hughes-Cricketer killed during play. My best wishes to my American cousins who are celebrating Thanksgiving
