They are going to remake the Naked Gun- and the trailer has just dropped. I was thinking some of the scenes would not go astray there. The Brothers playing the guards heads like a xylophone. Harpo cutting off the horsehair plumes off the guards. The throw away lines. A gas attack- take a spoon of bicarb in a glass of water.
Oh even stock footage- The marathon of people coming to Rufu's aid. Stock footage festival in the Simpsons in one. I did have a more sobering thought- this film makes fun of war. Equally we have soldiers on screen- gas attacks. Whistling past the graveyard? Or people just laughed at it
At one point they sing Hi de Hi, Ho de Ho. I mean sure. The cabinent scene reminded me of the town meeting in Blazing Saddles
It is a vehicle for the Marx Brothers and they drive off pretty fast. It has the go and never darken my towels line-which still works Groucho is still funny. You can see how he became a legend
His brothers a bit less so, but hey nobody is perfect. I suspect comedy Italian accents are not capapble of beating the weight anymore. Though I did like the taxes, and leavenworth jokes. The plot is simple Groucho becomes President of Freedonia, and gets sucked into intrigue and a war with their neigbours
