At work, we have a series of books. There are about 500 or so, of these. They take up a about 2 shelves. They are hospital romances.
The plot are simple, as you can expect
Nurse, meet doctor. Nurse, saves arrogant surgeon, Nurse marries, widower, after she well nurses, his sick children to work.
Dr Kildare, and General hospital, come into Popular culture, from this vein. This is the origin of it.
It should be remembered, that one of the most common professions, for a woman, in the 2oth century, was a nurse.
