Hellboy 2 the Golden army

I saw the first Hellboy, on DVD. I was aware of the comic's
One  used to see adverts for it in the back of Marvel comics.  A lady I knew went to see, the film on a date, and she recommended it. So I picked it up on DVD.
Well the film's are a joy.
Matt Gross, from Bros, stars as Prince Nuada.  Even Balor, of the evil eye, gets a name check. Funny thing is, I actually know who these names.

Then have Seth Macfarlane, of family guy as a Comedy German. They lost David Hyde Pierce as Abe Sapiens, and have sent Myers the newbie FBI agent, on his way. This is explained, with a line. Hellboy has come into his own in this film. He is living with his GF. He has Jeffery Tabor, his nominal boss, constantly on his back foot.
There is a great fight scene between Macfarlane and Hellboy.
Its a film of speca
Hellboy drinks Tecate, beer. Which is just awful.
Jeffery Tabor mentions he hates You Tube. Which would be the bane of a secret society. Hellboy in this film makes his first public appearance.
There is a sly dig. The Government , supporting interspecies marriage, with federal funds
They are speaking old Irish, in the council chamber. Before Prince Nuada kills Balor. I got some of, it. However the Elves speak it with a strange accent.
The elves engineer, has a good Northern Accent. Some of the action, takes place, under the Giants causeway.
There is lovely prologue. Set in an auld Nissan hut, In N.M. It has Hellboy as a child, being read the bedtime story. Whilst clutching a cap gun, and brushing his teeth
The Villian Prince Nuada. Is well concieved. He is quite sympathetic, he points out to the Hellboy, that the humans despise him. That they will use him.
The humans, took the forests and made parking space.
The ending was quite unexpected. I was surprised. There is fore shadowing of a darker chapter to come. This is a bright diversion, a brilliant bright diversion, before the darkness.
They can't run away for ever
