Paddington in Peru

I watched this with my nephew. I am glad to say I have seen it

Though I must say  isn't really Peruvian. Oh yes they go to Cusco- they may well have filmed at Macchu Picchu , but it doesn't feel like the Peru I knew. You see the Presidential Palace and the Plaza de Armas -There is some tourist footage of Barranco and  a Combi. This is Hollywood

One scene that feels real is Paddington eating an exotic fruit- a cereboya

Cusco is no where near the Amazon. Peru is the size of the US West Coast.

There is possibly a Fitzcarrado homage here though

That said, there are times when the film gets the horror of the Amazon - the family damp and sleeping under a tree. The endless forrest, and the bugs

One for the kids
