Zardoz

 I don't get this one

Sean Connnery plays Zed, a neo barbarian who manages to sneak into a post apocalyptic Eden. Rivals within the Eden- try and play him off against each other.

In fact he is called an externimator- Zed tribe is armed and stirred up by the flying head of Zardoz

Oh I actually see a bit of Planet of the Apes here. There is the ruins of an earlier civilisation. The half remembered myths. There are mounted monsters on horses chasing people with nets. Like the Planet of the Apes- there is the pre destination paradox- or human and ape civilisation rises and falls. The brutal- Connery or the Human ( Heston) is befriended by a female scientist. Who is studying human nature. One of her adversaries knows more than he admits. The Protagonist is doomed.

If you don't know the title, is a riff on the Wizard of Oz. The film sort of apes the Wizard. A character is swept away to far away place, kills a magic user. Exposes a fraud, if the munchkins, were violaters and violent.

You do wonder what the Bishop of Fens was doing at the time this film was produced. Hello your grace, Sean Connery is in the nip , wanting Charlotte Rampling to degrade herself. I did wonder about some of the locations -looked like deserted factories I wonder what happened here

Charlotte Rampling is Beautiful.

I was shocked when I realised that was John Alderton. He is in Fireman Sam. Well, I recognised more of the voices than the faces here. I think I saw Sara Kestelman in Invasion Earth, I remember her interrogating the  Human pilot who was caught helping the Echo

Okay I am glad I saw this, but I will not rewatch
