Tron

I am very glad I saw this. I had never seen this. Classmates talked about Tron in the playground when I was a boy, and I remember the clips on Disneytime. A lot of things have fallen into place. For example- the The Dungeon at the Heart of Dawn" The colum of light- is similar to the MCP Tron still looks great. Even though it's a period piece- we see little of the world. With the notable exception of Flynn's arcade. Which is full of teens and tween offering quarters for a go on a video game. I remember actually watching older boys play computer games and watching enviously. This experience I think is lost. The Arcade aside Tron is dark, dim neon world. David Warner is playing the villian. The Cold War is still on- this will prempt Terminator, with the MCP infilitrating the Penatgon and the Kremlin before Skynet I now know for example why the Wayback Machine, on the Internet Archive is so named. There is a lot of Star Wars here. A man swept into a struggle to overthrow a tyrant. An evil overlord trying to crush an older belief system. A rebellion I was intrgued by the fact that programs believed in their Users as an act of faith. Indeed they are called religious fanatics by the orcs. That suprised me., Bruce from B5 is here too. He is playing the nerd. The company guy, to Jeff Bridge's tech Jesus. He does a decent job. Looks very young! I was reminded of Starman a film I have not thought about in years more than The Big Leiboski while I viewed Bridges I know that it is in part inspired by Sheridan's presence but I could'nt help noticing this felt a lot like Babylon 5, too...Even the computer graphics and designs of the Solar Sail Ship are not so faraway I note all though it is not shown, Bruce and Jeff's have both been in a physical relationship with the girl. Disney seems to have been a lot less coy in the 80s. Also people seem to get physically hurt in the fighting, there is death. Alright the death of pograms, but these are programs with human faces. I enjoyed it. Will I watch the sequels, we will see
