Zapped!
This is an 80s teen and tits film. Which I have seen mentioned on various facebook pages.
So I decided to give it a whirl. Scott Baio remembers it fondly.
A school leaver- played by Scott Baio- discovers that he has telekinetic powers after an accident.
Scott Baio, is interesting here. Baio cast as Barney Springboro plays a more reserved and nervous character than he does on Happy Days. He is also somewhat richer than Chachie. His best friend is rich. He is also passive
There is a Star Trek riff. Baio understanding he can move objects with his mind plays with his model of the Enterprise-A. We see some jobbing actors play Kirk, and Bones.
Baio's parents at one point are convinced that he is doing heroin, and search him for needlemarks. There is a nice nod to the boredom of high school life. You concentrate, you sleep because your in late pubert-you are horny as well. There is a high school senior who keeps repeating and causes trouble.
Scatman Crothers guests here. So I suppose this movie if anything is good for playing 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon. He is a coach who drinks on the job.
That is Heather Thomas from the Fall Guy playing a spoiled little rich girl. She apparently refused to do the nude scenes. There are a lot of boobs in zapped. Baio can lift skirts and unbutton bras. I liked how though in the baseball game scene Barney's telekinesis the game is fixed obviously crudely
Eddie Deezen plays a nerd.
There is a nice romance between Baio's Barney and the female news reporter.
There is a riff on Carrie, the Exorcist.
