Celebrating the Ipswich away draw, and the Old Firm win
Limbo
Season 7 Magnum P.I
My brother and I watched Limbo. Which should have been the last episode of Magnum P.I (Tom Selleck)
Magnum is killed in a warehouse, having been ambushed. ( The ambush may be something of a ret con)
Selleck wanted to quit Magnum- He had been the first choice to play Indiana Jones. but good ratings in part due to Frank Sinatra guest starring in Laura, and better writing made the CBS network write Selleck a cheque. I think season 6 is pretty forgettable In contrast I really have enjoyed season 7. A lot of people like Laura, which is the episode with Old Blue Eyes which in contrast I find hard going. I note that you can actually buy a copy of Frank Sinatra's Hawaiian shirt from Laura
I would have liked to have seen Sinatra return though
It is a pity because this episode is a bittersweet classic. From the cold opening with TS fighting for his life and sweating hard in the back streets of Honolulu. Honolulu is the State Capital of a tourist paradise. It is also a colonial city next to a garrison, Season 7 has let us see some of the bugs on Lei flowers
With Thomas following Jordan Peterson's advice and tidying his room it reminds one of Quantum leap. TS talks Michelle through a car chase. I have put off watching Limbo. Like all good thing, I did not want it to end. Alas we will never get a follow up series
I really enjoyed it.

Christmas 2023
Firstly my compliments to any readers
It was quite hectic but not as expensive as I feared
I left work late on Friday. I did not feel so great- a bit groggy a bit frazzled. I walked home, I had to stop off to buy batteries. I napped for a bit. I woke up late, and tried to settle
Saturday
I met my friends Christoper and Rebecca and their children. I arranged to meet them in Central London. They go to Covent Garden, where the lady came to town as a child and teen. Invited to a quick bite, we got the central line to White City and then to Loftus Road
The game disappointed all though our seats did not. We had an excellent view of the game.
Southampton beat QPR 1-0 Southhampton were a more physical side. QPR's lack of a centre forward shows. It is the same problem I remember from the 1990s- The Dichico and Gallen days- If there is no forward there is no threat to the opposition. Equally with no forward that does not free up our second line, of Chair, and Dykes.
After the game, we went back to Covent Garden for a lovely meal
I then retired to the Shanakee
I woke up terribly hungover on the 24th. I was listess. I don't think I drank so much, Just a lot of cheap wine and cours light. I pulled my act together.
Mass was at 8pm, and lasted quite long. Also a second collection.
I stayed up as long as I could watching Cheers, and Fraiser. I was a bit annoyed by my brother who has been snubbing me, in the shanakee.
I did get a picture of Roisin in her dress. The nice green one I had sent from Maceys
I was woken by shouting at 9 am
There was a breakfast served at midday. The eggs were cold but otherwise it was superb. Though in our house as always the fuck up fairy had visited and we did not have bagels but burger buns. My sister had cooked the turkey and then brought it down. We were joined by my entire family, and the inlaws.
I did feel the absence of my daughter more.
We exchanged gifts,
I got some lovely presents
A QPR Calender
A photo of my daughter, and a key ring
A marceline T shirt
A nice green next shirt
A Dr Who glass
and then we waited for supper, and waited and waited. My brother in law finally arrived We ate in our front room. I did enjoy the meal. It was a bit dry with no cranberry sauce. We did not have a lot of turkey leftover. I forewent the deserts. Though I later had some tifle.
I then washed up, clearing up the rubbish and the plates, pots and silver. Which took a while.
We then had a quiz. Which my team won. I was a little diasapointed I did not get the elemental name for Tin. Also failing to pick China rather then the USA for having the most motorways
I then napped

Mrs Carmen Tamariz
My mother in law, my daughter's beloved grandmother, has died in Lima She was 76 years old
She is mourned by her two daughters, and surviving son, and many grandchildren in Peru and abroad
She was a complicated person. She was born in the North of Peru, she grew up in a hotel.
She remembers children crying outside and being told to ignore it. She hated the noise of crying children since then.
She was then sold to the local mayor and ran away to Lima.
Where she met my father in law. Who sold his Cadillac to buy her a ring,
She loved my daughter, always brought her something- even if just a banana
She brought us once a beautiful parrot from the jungle of Peru, which sadly we could not keep
She cooked for us often. She liked a drop of whiskey, even if she suffered from diabetes
One day, we were told to turn off the computer and TV. My daughter went into an autistic meltdown refusing to sleep for hours. Carmen, blessed my daughter, and lit some pieces of papers. It got my daughter to sleep
Goodbye Carmen

An A.I character I have made. She is Peruvian. She is from a police/military family. She went to University at San Marcos, but switched to the Police Academy. She is 27 years old and lives on the second floor of her family's apartment in Comas. She is being seconded to Britain and Ireland
She is often suprised and confused by her new life in the North
